Wow, give this a readholy shit this is actually insane
the actual fuck?
This is the most confusing, yet correct, murder/suicide story I have ever read. Pre-planned coïncidences, and actual coïncidences, leading to such a weird turn of events. What.
omg thats intense
wat. it’s like a suicide but through 4 people but like woah. Read it. seriously.
Oh my god…. This is so …. woah….
I don’t even…
I can’t even.. what. Oh my.
This is almost incomprehensibly bizarre.
as dramatized in the following scene from the movie Magnolia (which also includes a few other bizarre true stories)

I remember this book blowing my mind when I was a kid, but not much else about it. ‘Cept that diagram in the beginning about getting from Point A to Point B.

I am really psyched that more people are checking out Revolutionary Girl Utena as a result of Ikuhara’s new series Mawaru Penguindrum.
Utena is THE BEST ANIME. It starts out as a kind of fun feministy-romp thing and then it takes this left turn into this psychosexual nightmare. I love it more than most things.
Totoro!
OMG YES!!!

And I basically agree - The Death of Speedy is the best place to start for Jaime. If you start with the very earliest stories, you don’t really get a sense of what most of the Locas stuff is going to be like. It evolved pretty rapidly from what it started as in 1981.
For Gilbert, I think An American in Palomar is a pretty decent story to start with - or else just get the huge hardcover edition and read from the beginning.

I feel like I’ve been reborn every time I watch this movie. I think it is perfect. Best musical in the last 20 years for sure. And I don’t even really like musicals so…..
It is clear I must find my other half. But is it a he or a she? What does this person look like? Identical to me? Or somehow complementary? Does my other half have what I don’t? Did he get the looks? The luck? The love? Were we really separated forcibly or did he just run off with the good stuff? Or did I? Will this person embarrass me? What about sex? Is that how we put ourselves back together again? Or can two people actually become one again?

Favorite karaoke jams. Also, easily the best new musical of the past 20 years.
